Wylie’s Valentine Cupid Strikes Again

February 14, 2020

High School Student Buys Flowers For Every Girl

One Wylie High school boy took action this Valentine’s Day to show every girl at his school that she is special.

Wylie’s Cupid, who asked to remain anonymous, bought every girl at the High School a yellow carnation.

Each year, the Purple Dog Company sells flowers that students can buy for their Valentines and then delivers them during the school day. Last year, the boy bought a flower for every girl in his grade. This year, he decided to do one better and buy one for every girl in all four grades.

“The response when I did this last year was a lot of people were very happy to be included and though of during Valentine’s Day,” the student said. “This was the exact response I was hoping. I wanted them to feel God’s love for them, and I believe that’s exactly the point I got across. I really just felt God calling me to step it up this year. He is the one who makes the plans, and I just follow the instructions.”

So the student worked a summer job and saved his money so he could afford the price tag to buy flowers for every girl - $700. He said he wasn’t worried about getting the money.

“God is very good at providing for his plans,” he said.

The flowers were delivered to each girl with a message that said “God Loves You.” The student said he asked to remain anonymous because he didn’t want it to be about getting attention or accolades for himself. He wanted the gifts to be about spreading a message of love and letting each girl know they are worthy.

“I don’t want people to think I did this to get popularity or praise from other people,” he said. “I want God to get all the praise for this.”
