Wylie High School senior Shae Nicholson, has been hooked on rodeo events since she was 6 years old and gifted a horse by a family friend. This past weekend concluded the fall semester of high school rodeo and Shae is sitting at number four in the region in pole bending. The spring semester starts again in January and Shae is hoping to continue her run in the top 10 in order to qualify for the state finals held here in Abilene in June 2021. Shae is active in 4H, is the Vice President of Wylie FFA, works at Denton Valley Farms and shows pigs and goats. Just as if she was playing sports for the school, Shae must meet academic standards throughout the school year in order to compete. She is hoping to continue her rodeo dreams in college.
