Wylie Junior High Dominated the State TMSCA

Wylie Junior High absolutely dominated the State TMSCA competition this spring, winning the overall sweepstakes award and claiming either 1st or 2nd place in all four of the team competitions.

The State Texas Math and Science Coaches Association competition features the best math and science students from across the state competing against each other. Students compete individually and as a team.

Wylie 6th-grader Sanay Salvi won 1st place in all four of the 6th-grade competitions, an almost unheard of feat.  No one had accomplished that on the Middle School level in any division in at least the last five years.

Here are the Wylie teams and individuals who placed in the Top 10 at state:

Teams:

The Number Sense Team of Ayden Gertiser, Sanay Salvi, Nitin Kalla and Connor Brown won 1st place.

The Calculator Team of Ayden Gertiser, Connor Brown, Vincent Mercado and Sanay Salvi won 1st place.

The Math Team of Connor Brown, Ayden Gertiser, Nitin Kalla and Sanay Salvi earned 2nd place.

The Science Team of Sanay Salvi, Vincent Mercado, Ayden Gertiser and Connor Brown earned 2nd place.
