Congratulations on the Wylie choirs for a great showing at the Region 6 UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest on March 5 and 6 at the Abilene Convention Center.
The Wylie High School Varsity Mixed Choir and Varsity Treble Choir earned Sweepstakes (Superior) awards. The Sweepstakes award is the highest honor given by UIL for a music event and can only be obtained by earning superior ratings on stage and in sight-reading.
The Non Varsity Treble Choir earned a Division 1 (Superior) in Concert and a Division 2 (Excellent) in Sight-reading.
Both Wylie Junior High Varsity Treble and the Wylie Middle School/Junior High Non Varsity Tenor-Bass Choir also earned Sweepstakes (Superior).
Congratulations to the Choirs on an awesome job! The High School Choirs are directed by Stephanie Mouat and the Middle/Junior High School Choirs are directed by Brittany Gurganus.
