Wylie band students have been busy this summer, attending a variety of summer camps. Seventeen Wylie percussion students participate in the McMurry marching percussion camp, 14 Guard-Vision students enjoyed the McMurry Guard Camp and the band’s four drum majors attended the Texas Tech drum major camp.
Wylie students also attended the University of North Texas Jazz camp, Interlochen music camp in Michigan and the McMurry concert band camp.
“It is truly an honor to be the director of such a motivated large group of students,” said Wylie band director Mike Lunney. “They are willing to take summer break time to further sharpen their skills. A big thanks for the hard work of the students and the financial support of their parents.”
