Who Will You Elect as a Wylie School Board Member?

April 24, 2023

Early voting starts today, and Election Day is just around the corner on Saturday, May 6. With a great list of candidates who are ready to serve the Wylie community, who will you elect?

Each candidate shared a final thought with the Wylie Growl and provided links for quick access to information to help you make an informed decision.

We wish each candidate the best of luck!

PLACE 1

Jud Beall

I am a Wylie parent and a Wylie grad. My wife Jennifer and I have four children enrolled at Wylie. My goals as a school board member are to support our teachers with competitive pay and fully equipped classrooms. I want to protect our traditions that make us Wylie proud. We need to continue expanding programs at all campuses to prepare students for life after Wylie. And lastly, we need to develop a 10+ year plan to address our growth.

Laura Donaway

“School Board members should represent you and your point of view. I am a mom, a grandma, a school counselor, an administrator, and a taxpayer. I worked in WISD for 25+ years, and I’m a proud Wylie Bulldog. I believe my experiences and perspectives uniquely qualify me to represent you.”

PLACE 4 (Unopposed)

Brad Hill

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve this wonderful school district again. It has been my privilege and honor to do so and represent what Wylie stands for. We have a lot to get done in the future, and I’m humbled to be a part of that process.”

PLACE 5

Blaise Herberg

“Wylie needs strong leadership to manage the rapid growth and be a district of choice for teachers looking for a place to call home. I will leverage my decades of military leadership and business experience to help Wylie continue to be successful and a district we can be proud of.”

Megan Stephenson

“Wylie ISD is built on tradition and excellence, and it is crucial that our school board be equipped with individuals who are willing and able to make tough decisions not only for our students, parents, faculty and taxpayers, but for the future of our school. As a member of the school board, I will ensure that the future of Wylie is built on excellence, because Excellence Wins!”
