On Sept. 12, senior Reece Harvey was elected by her fellow students as the 2025 Homecoming Queen of Wylie High School. She is the daughter of Jody and Miranda Harvey. Other nominees included:
• Josy Fletcher, daughter of Lee and Nicole Fletcher
• McKenna Herberg, daughter of Blaise and Jayme Herberg
• Payton Hill, daughter of Phil and Lisa Hill
• Aiyana Washington, daughter of Wayne and Melissa Henderson
Harvey expanded on her experience and the blessing of being selected by her peers for such an honor and the opportunity to stand arm-in-arm with such an outstanding group of peers.
“I have been completely humbled and honored to have been one of the girls chosen to represent this place I call home. Each girl in the court exhibits what it looks like to lead with kindness while being completely and wholeheartedly themselves. They each got to represent something bigger than themselves—band, cheer, theatre, track, Unified Bulldogs, PALs, FCA and more—while showing what it looks like to be grounded in who they are, not what they do. They were recognized not just by these areas but by the impact they each have had on each of their peers,” said Harvey. “One takeaway I had from this experience is even though there is only one ‘Queen’ title, it really is about the collective win for the entire court and the pillars that have shaped each of our own individual person and communities.”
