Students in Alexis Hughes art class at Wylie High School recently teamed up with the popular T-shirt company Oliver & Otis on a competition to create a T-shirt design.
One of the owners of Oliver & Otis is a former student of Hughes, who thought the competition would bring out the creativity in her students.
She was right. Students Ireland Dimock and Hunter Murphy won 1st place in the competition, and the shirt designs that they created will actually be printed by the Oliver & Otis and sold.
Students whose designs were chosen for 2nd and 3rd places earned free shirts and koozies. Finishing in 2nd place was Kylee Kirk, Carrie Clark, Claire Siewert and Mariah Maldonado. Finishing in 3rd place was Hannah Wallace, Mackenzie Bierma, Carlie Cooper and Spencer Justice.
