Nick and Julie Pruitt, Sam Harvey and Betty Hines will be inducted into the Wylie Hall of Honor on Friday during the annual Hall of Honor Luncheon.
The luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. in the Auxiliary Gym at Wylie High School. The public and Wylie alumni are invited to attend to honor the district’s newest Hall of Honor members.
The inductees also will be recognized prior to the football game that evening.
Nick Pruitt was a long-time administrator at Wylie. During his 46 years in education he was principal at Wylie Middle School, Wylie High School and Wylie Elementary School before moving to the Administration Office as assistant superintendent.
Julie Pruitt taught 7th-grade Science at Wylie for many years.
Sam Harvey spent 30 years at Wylie as basketball coach, teacher, high school counselor, bus driver and district testing coordinator.
Betty Hines is an avid Wylie sports fan and former Wylie parent. She has been attending Wylie athletic events since 1949 when her uncle Rayburn Landers was football coach. She got some of her friends to go to Wylie athletic events with her, and they are now recognized by Wylie parents and students as the “Golden Girls” or “Gray-haired Ladies.” The were featured in a Wylie Growl article this past spring.
