Wylie Homecoming Court
Lilly Kate Doby, Avery Stevenson, Makeda Marquardt, Audrey Kate Schlauch, and Kelsey Ingram were the Homecoming Queen nominees this Fall. Makeda was named Queen. She said it was a surprise. “I was extremely blessed and honored to even be chosen to be on the court with such sweet girls,” she said. “It was such a blessing to be part of an experience like that.”
Landon Williams, Mason Kerby, Cayd Barnette, Case Kirby, and Tommy Thomas served as escorts during Homecoming festivities.
Wylie’s volleyball team made history this season by advancing to the regional quarterfinals for the first time since Wylie moved to Class 5A. Unfortunately, Canyon Randall ended the Lady Bulldogs’ season. It was the final match for Wylie’s seven seniors — Lilly Kate Doby, Jaron McAden, Lexi Miller, Dusti Grant, Alaina Johnson, Ashlie Daniels and Lexie Bayouth. Congratulations ladies on a great season.
Congratulations to Wylie’s Colton Stevens and Avery Waller-Stevenson who qualified for the Region I-5A Cross Country Meet by finishing in the Top 10 individually at the District Meet. Colton finished eighth for the boys’ team (18:05.20) at district. Avery finished 10th for the girls’ team (22:03.06).
