Wylie seniors Samuel Cummings, Jennifer Matthews, and Dominik Cintron will join the ranks of the United States Armed Forces upon graduating from Wylie High School this May. Joined by family and friends, as well as Wylie Superintendent Joey Light, Wylie High School Assistant Principal Gabrielle Bundy, and Wylie School Board Member Cameron Wiley, the trio enjoyed a Military Signing Day at Dyess Air Force Base on April 30.
Cummings and Matthews are joining the Air Force while Cintron is joining the Coast Guard. Wiley and Bundy are both veterans.
“Tonight was about recognizing Big Country seniors who made a decision that less than one percent of their peers will ever make,” said Wiley. “This is not a small decision. It’s commitment, sacrifice, and a willingness to step into something bigger than yourself.”
