Most Impactful Activity, Class or Teacher
In my junior year, I took AP Spanish Language & Culture. I was one of five students in the class. The intimate class setting allowed me to understand Spanish at a higher level and connect better with my teacher, Mrs. Taylor, and classmates; overall, it created a memorable class and the desire to continue learning Spanish outside of school and incorporate it into my future career.
Most Cherished High School Memory
My most cherished memory in high school is having B lunch freshman year with my entire friend group. One time we were so loud and obnoxious that an upperclassman told us to grow up and mature.
Overcoming Challenge & The Lessons Learned
Mrs. Eilers’s AP Biology class was the most challenging class I have ever taken. My struggling on the tests, quizzes, and assignments was something I had never experienced in any class and as a result I wanted to drop the class, but I didn’t. I studied as much as I could and ended the year with a 90+ average. The class taught me grit and discipline which I will take with me into difficult classes I may take at UT.
Making the Most of High School
You will make mistakes and regret decisions, and it’s all a part of life. Take everything day by day and enjoy your friends and lack of responsibility as much as you can. Make memories and surround yourself with people who want the best for you.
My Inspiration
My parents constantly inspire me. The stability in their relationship, finances, and livelihood is everything I want to achieve in life and what I strive for in my future.
Proudest Accomplishment
I am most proud of being accepted in the University of Texas at Austin. All of my hard work and late nights spent studying throughout high school granted me admission into the highly selective university and for that I am incredibly proud of myself.

Most people don’t know that I am decent at speaking Spanish.

I would like to thank my older sister, Aziyah, for teaching me all the tricks of high school and showing me what success looks like and how to achieve it. Without her influence and guidance, I likely would not have tried as hard as I did in my classes and been in the position I am in now.
