Kinesiology

Most Impactful Activity, Class or Teacher
My track coach, Adrienne Ruffin, has shown me what it means to be mentally tough and accomplish anything I put my mind to.

Most Cherished High School Memory
After home football games, I loved when the whole student section got on the field to hold pinkies and sing the school song.

Overcoming Challenge & The Lessons Learned
Junior year, I struggled with finding time for both my academic and athletic commitments. Taking AP classes, playing school sports, and competing in club soccer was difficult to manage. However, when I learned how to use my time wisely, I was able to find time for assignments, practices and games. For example, by getting homework and assignments done at school, I was able to head into trainings and games stress-free. Consequently, I learned that time management is a valuable skill to obtain.

Making the Most of High School
Go to all the sports games, join clubs, and watch plays or shows. Always stay on top of your schoolwork and do not be afraid to talk to teachers or counselors as needed.

My Inspiration
My father gives me inspiration because he has gone through so much, yet continues to be there for my twin sister and I, day-in and day-out. He encourages us to do our best in school and is always at our school events.

Proudest Accomplishment
I am most proud of getting to the top 10 of my graduating classes because this is a goal I have had since freshman year. Although athletic commitments took a lot of my time, I prioritized studying and turning in assignments on time.

Who Knew?
Most people don’t know that I love to clean. Not only do I work best in an organized setting, I also love the process of putting on some music and decluttering my space. Not only do I like cleaning my room or my house, I also enjoy keeping my life in order by keeping a carefully constructed calendar of all my events and activities.

Thank You So Much
I would like to thank my sister, Andrea, for always staying by my side and encouraging me to do my best in everything I do. I would also like to thank my parents for instilling in me beneficial habits and for supporting each and every one of my dreams, big or small.
