Most Impactful Activity, Class or Teacher
I have been most impacted by my involvement in UIL Literary Criticism. It has taught me so much about pushing myself to do might best as well as helping others do the same. I have learned so much from everyone involved as well as Mrs. Kirby who is in charge of our school’s literary criticism team.

Most Cherished High School Memory
My most cherished memory was advancing to State in girls doubles this spring season. There were a lot of tears and it was definitely bittersweet, but I wouldn’t have wanted to end senior year any other way! This amazing moment was also followed by rushing straight to prom and the entire day was just one to remember!

Overcoming Challenge & The Lessons Learned
My junior year of high school was definitely the most challenging of high school. It was filled with AP courses, extracurriculars, and so many responsibilities it felt like I couldn’t keep up. But with all this struggle I learned such an important lesson—life is so much more fun when you’re actually living it instead of going day to day off a to-do list. While it was such a difficult time in the moment, looking back, it really taught me to enjoy the little moments—after all, life is about the journey, not the destination.

Making the Most of High School
My advice would be to go out and try everything even if you don’t think you’ll be good at it. Even if you don’t decide to stick with an activity, sport, etc. you’ll learn so much about yourself just from trying it.

My Inspiration
Throughout high school, I was inspired by the idea of getting into a good college, but now I’m realizing that I’m truly inspired by the idea of knowing that I gave something my all and never quit when things got hard.

Proudest Accomplishment
I’m most proud of getting second place at State for UIL literary criticism last year. Many people would think a second place medal isn’t anything to write home about, but our team didn’t advance out of region like we thought so it was me competing individually. I genuinely thought I wouldn’t medal with how difficult it is, but to hear my name called for second place just made me so proud to know all my hard work paid off.

 Who Knew?
I read an average of 100 books per year, just for fun!

Thank You So Much
I would like to thank my parents who are always so supportive of everything I do. My mom, for always being willing to hang out with me while I did my homework, and my dad for pausing whatever he was doing to help quiz me over anything and everything.
