Most Impactful Activity, Class or Teacher

My CNA program has impacted who I am today the most, as it has taught me patience, empathy, and that the healthcare field is where I want to be in the future.

Most Cherished High School Memory

My most cherished memory in high school is of school dances or football games, because I always ended up standing by people I knew, but hadn’t seen that school year because our class schedules didn’t line up. I enjoyed reuniting with those people, especially in fun environments.

Overcoming Challenge & The Lessons Learned

A time when I overcame a challenge was at the beginning of junior year. I was trying to get acclimated to the rigorous coursework of my four AP courses, while also balancing the 6 a.m. practices of cross-country season, and a part time job in the evenings. I learned the lessons of time management and balance, and although it was a challenging few months, I overcame the obstacle.

Advice on Succeeding in High School

My advice to underclassmen is to enjoy their high school experience but also set boundaries as to what they’re willing to sacrifice in order to do so. High school events such as dances, games, and performances are fun, but they often require students to give up time elsewhere so that things like school work, practice, and extracurriculars still get done. You may have to stay up later to finish homework, or skip some down time to keep up with these responsibilities, so make sure those trade-offs are worth it to you before committing to anything.

My Inspiration

Thinking about my future, and envisioning career and personal goals gives me inspiration.

Proudest Accomplishment

The accomplishment I am the proudest of is becoming a Terry Scholar, because through this achievement I have earned a full-ride scholarship to The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Who Knew?

Something most people don’t know about me is that my favorite types of books are dystopian fiction.

Thank You So Much

I would like to thank the teachers and coaches who have always believed in me, and my friends and family who have supported me throughout high school.
