Class of 2026 Graduates: #13 Joyah Maroney

Texas A&M University

Business Management/Prerequisites for PA school

Most Impactful Activity, Class or Teacher
Playing basketball impacted me the most as it gave me lifelong relationships and taught me how to work and overcome challenging situations.

Most Cherished High School Memory
I don’t think I have one singular memory that is my favorite but going to basketball tournaments and getting to bond with my teammates were some of my best memories from high school.

Overcoming Challenge & The Lessons Learned
Junior year was challenging academically and athletically, but it taught me that I can do hard things. On days when I didn’t do well on a test and still had to go and practice for 2.5 hours made me realize that if my mindset was positive, I had a better outcome.

Advice on Succeeding in High School
Be “others” focused. It is so easy to get wrapped up in your own things and lose sight of what’s important, so find ways to serve and love others, and you will make lasting connections!

My Inspiration
My parents. Their love for the Lord and other people is inspiring to me, and I hope that I can be the type of people they are one day.

Proudest Accomplishment
I am most proud of reaching 1,000 points in basketball in the middle of my senior season. Working so hard in that sport my whole life and finally reaching that milestone felt amazing.

Who Knew?
I plan to study abroad while at Texas A&M! (I want to go everywhere)

Thank You So Much
I first want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, without Him I would have never been able to accomplish this. I also want to thank my parents for continually pointing me back to Christ and teaching me what it looks like to run to the Father through the good times and the hard times.
