Overcoming Challenge & The Lessons Learned
I tried out for drum major my sophomore year and didn’t get it, and then I had to try out again my junior year, and I made it that year. It taught me not to give up if you don’t get what you wanted the first time.
Advice on Succeeding in High School
I would say that when you are genuinely yourself and the right people will naturally follow.
My Inspiration
I am inspired by a lot of the authors I love, like Suzanne Collins, Harper Lee, and Victor Hugo.
Proudest Accomplishment
I am most proud of becoming a drum major because it pushed me outside of my comfort zone and I gained amazing friendships from it.
