School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
My Instructional Practices class in my junior year of high school impacted me significantly. It was taught by Mrs. Jansa, but we went to a different campus four times a week to observe another teacher. I got to observe and help Mrs. Anderson at the West Elementary. She taught me so much about teaching, and I will never forget the impact that class made on my future.
Most Cherished High School Memory
Senior Sunrise is my most cherished memory of high school. I loved getting to be with all my friends to celebrate the start of our last year of high school. I made so many great memories that day and I feel like we got closer as a class.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
A time I overcame a challenge was when I took my first AP class junior year. It was the hardest class I’ve taken, and I had to learn to adjust to not having the best grades. I still made good grades, but they weren’t what I was used to. I learned that it is okay to not make the best grades as long as you work hard.
Advice for Under Classmen
Hangout with your close friends. You are all going to go to different colleges and not see each other very often. Make tons of memories!
My Inspiration
My parents give me inspiration. They both work very hard, and they have taught me how to be a good person. I look up to them in so many ways. They have truly made me the person I am today.
A Proud Moment
I am most proud of making all As in high school. It has always been a goal of mine, and I am proud to say that I’ve met that goal.

Most Cherished High School Memory
My most cherished memory was becoming friends with Isaac Gammon through the Unified Bulldogs program. Every phone call, kickball game, and three pointers are memories that make me smile.
Advice for Under Classmen
If I could give underclassmen any advice it would be to try everything you possibly can in high school. Sometimes putting yourself out there and getting out of your comfort zone can be intimidating, but eventually, you realize everyone is so worried about themselves and their affairs they’re not even paying attention to you. High school is too short to not put yourself first and have the most fun possible.
School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
My participation in the Unified Bulldogs program impacted me the most.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
There have been many stressful times when I feel like I’m juggling many different responsibilities at once. I have since learned to thoroughly write details out and take it one day at a time.
My Inspiration
I feel so inspired by my friend Ella Heuerman. She is like a ray of sunshine, and she reminds me through her mindset that every situation, no matter how much it gets me down, always has a positive side. I am so grateful for her role in my life.
A Proud Moment
I am proud of my accomplishments in golf. Even through feeling burnt out, I stuck with it.
Who Knew?
I really enjoy musical theater, and I wish I could have participated in the 24-hour musical at least once.
Gratitude Check
I would like to thank my mom and my dad for making me feel like I can achieve anything I set my mind to in life. Although this quality also makes me pretty stubborn, I feel as if through enough hard work, there are unlimited options for me.

School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
The activity that most impacted me today was cheer! I found my very best friends through cheerleading, and I know we will stay close even as we go our separate ways for college. Coach Martin was the best mentor for me and the entire rest of the team. She was always there supporting and cheering us on.
Most Cherished High School Memory
My most cherished memory from high school was getting to cheer at all the football games. The bus rides, practices, and of course being on the sidelines will always be something I remember, because I got to do it with such great people.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
I moved to Wylie after my sophomore year of high school, and having to come into a new place and make all new friends seemed very difficult. Once I got here, I realized how great a place this is and was able to make wonderful friends quickly.
Advice for Under Classmen
I would tell underclassmen to try everything at first. Be a part of all the sports and clubs to see what you truly love to do.
My Inspiration
My family gives me inspiration; I always try and do my best for them.
A Proud Moment
I am most proud of working hard over the last four years to be able to get into Texas A&M and be able to go to my dream university.
Who Knew?
One thing people may not know about me is that I moved here only two years ago, but I feel like I have been here forever.
Gratitude Check
I would love to thank my parents for all the things they have done to allow me to go to A&M next year. They have always been by my side to help and guide me to the place I am today!

School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
Mrs. Peacock, teaching culinary arts, had the most impact on me as a student throughout my high school career. She was always joyful in the mornings, and helped set the stage for a great day. She always treated others with utmost respect, reminding me to be kind to others. Additionally, Mrs. Peacock assisted in my many applications for scholarships. She exemplifies the role model I aspire to become through my job as a physician’s assistant.
Most Cherished High School Memory
My most cherished memory in high school was playing for the JV soccer team throughout my sophomore season. I will never forget experiencing with friends all the late-night bus rides, eating out after games, and most of all, annihilating opponents on the field.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
A challenge I struggled to overcome was working with others on group projects. As I wanted a 100, I tried to take control of the whole project, and not let others demonstrate their effort. However, I soon learned it is important to let others speak their mind and contribute to the best of their ability. There was no growth upon these students, because I would just shoot down their thoughts as soon as they said them. As this is extremely demoralizing, they would never learn from their mistakes.
Advice for Under Classmen
I would advise the underclassmen to spend as much time possible hanging out with friends. School can be really stressful and depressing if all one focuses on is grades. It is friends that matter the most and will help you grow as a person. It is important to have fun through these times, and what better way than to spend it with friends.
My Inspiration
My dad gives me the most motivation to succeed. Partly, because he would whoop my butt if I did not work hard using my talents and abilities to their highest potential. Partly, because he came from a small town in De Leon, Texas, without much wealth. He made me realize hard work will pay off and set the future up for success.
A Proud Moment
I am most proud of maintaining all “A”s throughout school. From even elementary school through high school, I have never made a “B”. This required immense effort and dedication, and it was very rewarding to finally see it pay off.
Who Knew?
I like to go hunting and fishing in my free time. Additionally, aside from schoolwork, I love to compete in sports.
Gratitude Check
I would like to thank my sister, Morgan, for helping me throughout my high school career. She took time out of her day to express her thoughts on what would work best on projects, essays, and homework. I am very appreciative of all the help she has committed to me over the years.

Most Cherished High School Memory
Singing “It is Well” after every football game. It always reminded me that no matter the outcome of the previous week God has given us a new one with new opportunities and obstacles to overcome. This is what I’m going to miss the most from Wylie.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
Probably the biggest challenge I had to persevere through was the loss of one of my close friends Kyle Rush. This was extremely tough on me and my friends and still is today. Through this I’ve had to learn how to deal with loss as well as help the people around me who are dealing with it also. This still remains a challenge today just thinking about the great times we have and then the ones that got cut short.
Gratitude Check
I just want to thank the amazing Wylie community for pouring into me over the last 12 years and helping mold me into the person I am today. Each and every peer, teacher, and administrator has made a lasting impact on my personal life and helping plant the seeds to start my life outside of high school. I also want to thank my amazing parents. They have been with me every step in life and are always there when I need somebody to lean on. They truly have made me into the man I am, and I could not have achieved anything without them. Also, to my brother who gives me a reason to strive to be a role model and be someone he can look up to. Just thank you to all who constantly poured into me throughout grade school.

Who Knew?
I am actually a pretty good singer. I don’t sing often but I have grown up in the Church of Christ and have been singing for forever. Most people have never heard me sing (besides one pep rally) and it surprises people that I can actually carry a tune.
Advice for Under Classmen
Just have fun. High school flies by so live in the moment and enjoy every aspect of life during it because you only get to live it once!
My Inspiration
My parents are some of my biggest inspirations. They lead me in how to be successful and have helped me get to where I am today through their encouragement and advice. They truly have helped me get through the ups and downs and I look up to them in every aspect of my life.
A Proud Moment
I’m extremely proud of earning my football scholarship. I have put years of hard work into it, and it has paid off. I am just so blessed to have the support around me to be able to accomplish it. It just makes me excited for the future seeing the work I have put into it finally come into fruition.

Do what you love no matter who is in it with you. You will find some of the best friends in the activities you love.
Most Cherished High School Memory
One of my most cherished memories from high school would be my very first football season as a Belle. I loved getting to see everyone come together with so much school spirit, the environment was so cool and unique to experience.
School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
Belles has impacted me in ways I cannot begin to explain. It has given me a home at school, and friendships I will cherish for a lifetime.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
I would say one thing that was a challenge at first was managing all the things I am involved in. Trying to be involved in my community, give my all to belles, and maintain high grades definitely was a lot. However, I learned that putting effort into everything instead of not doing everything you love is so worth it and fulfilling.
My Inspiration
My family and friends give me a lot of inspiration; I look up to them a lot. I also get a lot of inspiration from my Faith, and religion of Christianity.
A Proud Moment
One of my biggest accomplishments would be being in the top 25. I have always put my grades to a very high standard, so having this outcome is very rewarding.
Who Knew?
Something people may not know is that I love to travel.

Art has given me such a love for creativity and expression, I’m proud of what I create and the work it took to get there. PALS has given me so much perspective on who I am as a person. Though the main goal is to guide these kids, there is so much more that I took away from the class. Growing stronger emotionally has been such a wonderful unforeseen take away from the class.
Most Cherished High School Memory
The powdered chalk fight we had one day before the whiteout football game, such a great time.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
Not getting into the college that I wanted was definitely a challenge, it was a humbling experience, but one that really helped me understand how much more I can work to excellence. I’m proud of where I am but nowhere near the top.
Advice for Under Classmen
Be a little stupid, this period of time is so flexible and is probably the best time you have to figure yourself out. Have temperance though, some decisions can have impacts for years and years, enjoy your time, be a little reckless, but don’t get lost in the revelry.
My Inspiration
The stories I consume do. A staple in nearly all of them is some character who has the most difficult journey to face, and they do it with so much tenacity. I realize these characters aren’t real, but I challenge myself to be as determined and foolishly resolute as they are.
A Proud Moment
My qualifying for state V.A.S.E for 2 years in a row is something I am really proud of. I’ve always loved art, and for my work that came from my brain to be deemed exemplary is pretty cool.

Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
During junior year, I struggled in a class where the material didn’t come easily to me. I was used to grasping things quickly, so it was frustrating to feel stuck. Instead of giving up or making excuses, I made the decision to ask for help and stay consistent in my efforts. This eventually brought my grade up. The challenge taught me that persistence matters more than momentary success.
Who Knew?
When I was in elementary school, we used to take my dog on walks up to Austin Elementary. Sometimes I would dig out a little hole under our fence so that the dog could get out and come to visit me at school. It would get me out of class, and it was great.
School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
Student Council helped me to grow as a person and become more confident.
Most Cherished High School Moment
My favorite memory every year is participating in the 24-hour musical. It’s so chaotic and full of fun. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.
Advice for Under Classmen
Make time to prioritize yourself and your health. It’s so easy to get caught up in wanting to do everything. Being involved will make your high school experience great, but everything takes a toll on you if not done in moderation. When I think back on the moments that got me through it, it’s as simple as the times when I went on a walk or to the movies all by myself.
My Inspiration
My inspiration comes from my parents. Every day I see my parents do so much to better themselves and provide for their family. They work so hard to make sure that their children have everything that they need to be happy and successful. I receive so much of their unwavering, and sometimes undeserved, love and support.
A Proud Moment
One time, I won a Kahoot in Mr. Dowell’s class, so I got to smash a pie in his face. That was pretty cool.

Advice for Under Classmen
It’s okay to let go of people who don’t meet your standards or encourage you to be better. People change and you can’t always control that, but you can control yourself. You become like the people you surround yourself, so find people that encourage you to be even better, support you when you need it most, and make you laugh when you want to cry.
My Inspiration
Something in the way that makes me really competitive and that in turn makes me want to work hard and be the best I can.
School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
Theatre has played a monumental role in the person I am today. It has given me a consistent place to belong and work for. I have developed some of my strongest friendships and best memories with my fellow cast and classmates. There is nowhere else where I feel quite at home and feel like I can be my most authentic self.
Most Cherished High School Memory
My most cherished memory is more of a cherished space. I love all the memories I’ve made in the PAC, inside Mr. Shoemake’s office. For me that office is the essence of fun and laughter. All of my theatre friends and I sit in there and crack jokes, go on tangents, and talk about the crazy things happening in our lives. I always look forward to the days where we can all sit and laugh together in that office.

Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
There was a time when I struggled with the decision to choose my own path after high school. I didn’t want to worry my family, but I also knew that pursuing independence by joining the military would help me grow in ways I couldn’t achieve by following the conventional path. I could tell they were nervous about the unknown. They may have had doubts at first, but in the end, they just want to see me succeed, no matter how I get there.
Most Cherished High School Memory
I cherished every halftime I spent on that football field performing with some of my best and closest friends. Every walk to the football field, chatty bus rides home, late night dinner with half our makeup still on, and more will be a highlight of my time here at Wylie. I will never forget the feeling of putting on that uniform and performing for our community.
School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
Dance has always just been a hobby of mine, but it has really shaped me into who I am today. Being a part of the Belles has taught me many life lessons that I will take with me in the future about friendship, camaraderie, and leadership. To the coaches and my fellow dancers, I am grateful each day for the chance to be part of this beautiful journey. Being involved in this program has been a chapter filled with growth, inspiration, and unforgettable memories we’ve built together.
Advice for Under Classmen
There are going to be people who come into your life and some who may leave during these four years. It’s important not to dwell on what you’ve lost, whether it is a best friend, a relationship, or even the memories you once had. High school can be full of change, and not all relationships are meant to last forever. With this, focus on what change can do for you, embrace the growth that comes with it, and trust that the right people and experiences will find you.
My Inspiration
My parents will always be the blueprint of inspiration to me, not only for being my number one supporters but for the way they live with strength and unconditional love. They’ve worked hard, sacrificed so much, and never stopped believing in me, even when I doubted myself. In the end, I hope to make them proud, not just by being good for them, but by becoming someone I’m proud of too.
A Proud Moment
Of all that I’ve achieved, the accomplishment I hold closest to my heart is making my parents proud of the person I’ve become. Their love and countless sacrifices often made without recognition have shaped my path and given me the strength to accomplish many great things. Everything I strive for is a reflection of their resilience, their faith in me, and the foundation they’ve built, not just for me to achieve my dreams, but to become one of theirs.
Who Knew?
Collecting physical media is one of my favorite pastimes. There’s something so intriguing about digging through stacks of forgotten gems, each one a reminder of the past. No matter how much I collect, it always feels like there’s more out there waiting to be discovered.

Graduating in the top 25 of my class. There were a lot of times when my friends were hanging out or playing video games that I told them I couldn’t because I was studying. It’s nice to see a reward for that time I spent studying instead of hanging out.
School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
The PALs class had the most impact on me. I really enjoyed being a PAL; I made a lot of great friends. It was very sweet to get the opportunity to mentor.
My Inspiration
Jesus. I never would have made it through high school without my relationship with Jesus. He has been so good to me and carried me when times get hard.
Most Cherished High School Memory
I remember one of the first away games this year got rained out and we had already drove all the way to the stadium. I think it was Brownwood, so it wasn’t a very long drive. My friends and I talked through the whole drive up there. We got off the buses and had to turn around and get back on because of the lightning. We stayed on the buses for about an hour waiting for the coaches to make a call. So, while we were on the bus we listened to the Eagles and just made the most of it. It was honestly a really chill, fun time.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
My granddad died my senior year. He was the first person close to me that I lost, and I had to learn how to grieve and appreciate everyone that was there for me even though he couldn’t be anymore.
Advice for Under Classmen
Get involved in extracurriculars. Highschool is your time to try things and find out what you like. If you’re not good at something, it’s alright to fail either try again or try something else.

School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
Football and Track and field have impacted me the most. They have given me the work ethic and discipline that I demonstrate today. The coaches have given me life lessons that come with team sports, and I have made a great connection with Coach Hayworth, Copeland, Kates, and Martin. These men have showed me what it takes to be a man and the attributes one must acquire throughout his life. I am extremely grateful for all my teachers who have helped me throughout school, especially Mrs. Taylor. She has been my teacher for all four years of my high school career. She exemplifies excellence, independence, the importance of motherhood, and how to balance jobs, sports, school, and home life. She has given me great advice and of course helped me learn and excel in Spanish. All of these people have helped me understand valuable life lessons and have given me clarity in times of despair.
Most Cherished High School Memory
My most cherished memory is being in class with my friends. I enjoy laughing and spending time with the guys, and the light heartedness in it all. High school is very stressful at times and having the moments where there isn’t a care in the world and just having fun is the best.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
A challenge I have overcome is urges. I had a violent urge and acted on it during school. This resulted in me punching one of my teammates and sending him to the hospital. My punishment was 20 days in DAEP. Being in there with those kids made me realize that this mistake does not define me. It demonstrated that I am stronger than most and can control myself. I came back to football after the 20 days and felt brand new, clean of my wrongdoings and ready to prove that it did not define who I am inside.
Advice for Under Classmen
Be yourself and have fun. Enjoy the little things, because soon they will be gone.
My Inspiration
My family gives me inspiration. My dad came from Mexico and immigrated in his early teens. He worked for everything he has now and has built a very successful family. He shows me anything is possible. My brothers are very successful in their field and show me anything can be accomplished through hard work and dedication.
A Proud Moment
Being a three-time regional qualifier for shotput. Shotput is something I tried in 8th grade and have fallen in love with ever since. I started with no technique and have pretty much self-taught everything I know. It showed me I can do anything I put my mind to, and dedication goes a long way. I have always been undersized in shotput and being underrated fueled me to beat those bigger kids at the meets.

My Inspiration
Helping others is what inspires me most. Whether it’s offering a listening ear or just being there for someone, I love knowing I can make a difference. I try to be that empathetic person others can turn to, even if I haven’t gone through what they’re experiencing. We all want to feel understood, and I want to be that person for others.
A Proud Moment
My proudest accomplishment is the person I’ve become. When I look back, I see the effort, the growth, and the hard work it took to get here, from being a quiet kid who didn’t know how to fit-in into someone who is now more confident, outspoken, and sure of myself. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and the version of me I’ve become.
School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact
I’ve had many teachers who’ve impacted my life, but the class that has shaped me the most is PALS with Mrs. Jones, which I’ve been part of during 6th period for the past two years. My love for PALS actually started before I was even nominated, when my older brother was in it his senior year (Class of ’23). He always talked about how meaningful the experience was, and I knew then that I wanted to be part of it. I still remember the moment I was nominated; I was at tennis practice when a group of PALS students walked toward me with a letter. I was shocked and overjoyed. Since then, the friendships, memories, and life lessons I’ve gained from this class have been unforgettable. PALS wasn’t just a class–it was a chapter in my life that I’ll always cherish.
Most Cherished High School Memory
Some of my most cherished memories come from visiting my PAL mentees. As my time in PALS comes to an end, I realize how meaningful those moments truly were. I’ve watched my mentee grow and thrive, and being someone, they could look up to has meant everything to me. Knowing I could be a positive influence in someone’s life is what makes those moments some of the most special in my high school experience.
Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned
One challenge I overcame was when I signed up for my first honors class, Honors English as a freshman. It might sound small, but for someone who has always struggled with reading and writing, it was a big step. When I was younger, I had a speech impediment and a hearing issue that made learning words and pronunciation difficult. I always preferred solving math problems over reading stories. When I started Honors English, I wanted to quit. I felt like I was falling behind and ruining my GPA. But I pushed through, and looking back, I’m proud I didn’t give up. That experience taught me that if I set my mind to something and stay committed, I can succeed, even in areas I used to avoid.
Advice for Under Classmen
My advice to underclassmen is simple: be true to yourself. Don’t change who you are just to fit in or please others because God made you exactly as you’re meant to be. Also, get involved! Join clubs, take chances, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. You only get four years, so spend them doing things you love with people who truly support you. Don’t waste time pretending to be someone you’re not.
Who Knew?
Most people don’t know that I’m actually pretty goofy outside of school. At school, I’m focused and hardworking, so I don’t always show that side of me. But when I’m with family or close friends, I like to joke around and have fun. It surprises people to see that more relaxed version of me.
Gratitude Check
I’d like to thank my family, especially my mom and older brother, for always being there through the highs and lows. They’ve been my biggest supporters. I also want to thank my teachers for going the extra mile, not just teaching but truly investing in their students’ success. Shoutout to Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Harrison, Mrs. Kirby, Mrs. Jansa, Mr. Dowell, and Mrs. Bacon. Thank you for believing in us and making a lasting impact.
