Campus Connections December 22: Wylie High School

December 1, 2022

Hello, Wylie Community!

What a great first quarter of the 2022-2023 school year for Wylie High School! The hallways of WHS bustle with over 1,450 students making their way to academic classes, fine arts classes, CTE classes, and athletic classes each day. The students and teachers have seen much success in the classroom, on the stage, and on the athletic field and court.

Cross Country, Team Tennis, Band, Volleyball, and Football have celebrated many victories this fall with some teams earning championships! Sophomores and Juniors have sat for the PSAT as some hope to be in the running for a National Merit Scholarship. Wylie Theater put on a great fall production and is now beginning to prepare for the musical. Pure Gold Band earned their first title of 5A Area Finalist ever!

Wylie High School CTE programs have begun practicums and internship hours with industry partners. Wylie’s new CTE construction shop is in the final stages of construction, which will allow for the construction and electrical classes to set up shop. Wylie High School has two National Merit Scholarship Semi-Finalist, Ayden Gertiser and Nathan Brown.

Students have the opportunity to be involved in many of the different clubs and organizations at Wylie High School where students contribute to their community and volunteer their time. WHS students enjoy pep rallies each week, have no trouble getting loud in the student section, bring their best on spirit days, and cheer on their fellow Bulldogs.

Thank you, Wylie Community, for cheering on our students, wearing your purple and gold, and supporting our teachers and staff. I am proud of the accomplishments and work of our Bulldogs as we have kicked off this school year. It really is GREAT TO BE A WYLIE BULLDOG!

Go Bulldogs,
Reagan Berry
