Junior Cash Stockard and Sophomore Sawyer Fleming, fishing partners on the Wylie Bulldog Bass Fishing Team, hooked a first-place win during the tournament hosted by Texas BASS Nation Youth Northwest on Oct. 22. Weighing in with a total of 14.94lbs. and winning the category of Biggest Bass at 7.90 lbs., the two split the earnings.
Fleming (on the left) said he and Stockard received $1,750 each. Bass Fishing is not considered a UIL event, so cash prizes are often awarded rather than medals or trophies. He also said this is the first year for he and Stockard to compete together.
