Overcoming Challenge & Lessons Learned

There was a time when I struggled with the decision to choose my own path after high school. I didn’t want to worry my family, but I also knew that pursuing independence by joining the military would help me grow in ways I couldn’t achieve by following the conventional path. I could tell they were nervous about the unknown. They may have had doubts at first, but in the end, they just want to see me succeed, no matter how I get there.

Most Cherished High School Memory

I cherished every halftime I spent on that football field performing with some of my best and closest friends. Every walk to the football field, chatty bus rides home, late night dinner with half our makeup still on, and more will be a highlight of my time here at Wylie. I will never forget the feeling of putting on that uniform and performing for our community.

School Activity, Class or Teacher Impact

Dance has always just been a hobby of mine, but it has really shaped me into who I am today. Being a part of the Belles has taught me many life lessons that I will take with me in the future about friendship, camaraderie, and leadership. To the coaches and my fellow dancers, I am grateful each day for the chance to be part of this beautiful journey. Being involved in this program has been a chapter filled with growth, inspiration, and unforgettable memories we’ve built together.

Advice for Underclassmen

There are going to be people who come into your life and some who may leave during these four years. It’s important not to dwell on what you’ve lost, whether it is a best friend, a relationship, or even the memories you once had. High school can be full of change, and not all relationships are meant to last forever. With this, focus on what change can do for you, embrace the growth that comes with it, and trust that the right people and experiences will find you.

My Inspiration

My parents will always be the blueprint of inspiration to me, not only for being my number one supporters but for the way they live with strength and unconditional love. They’ve worked hard, sacrificed so much, and never stopped believing in me, even when I doubted myself. In the end, I hope to make them proud, not just by being good for them, but by becoming someone I’m proud of too.

A Proud Moment

Of all that I’ve achieved, the accomplishment I hold closest to my heart is making my parents proud of the person I’ve become. Their love and countless sacrifices often made without recognition have shaped my path and given me the strength to accomplish many great things. Everything I strive for is a reflection of their resilience, their faith in me, and the foundation they’ve built, not just for me to achieve my dreams, but to become one of theirs.

Who Knew?

Collecting physical media is one of my favorite pastimes. There’s something so intriguing about digging through stacks of forgotten gems, each one a reminder of the past. No matter how much I collect, it always feels like there’s more out there waiting to be discovered.

Gratitude Check

I would like to thank all the teachers that have not only noticed me but pushed me into being the best student and person. Also, to all my friends who have made each day more beautiful and a joy to share their company, thank you.
