Carlie Cooper was crowned Homecoming Queen during homecoming ceremonies Sept. 23. She was one of five girls nominated for the honor by their peers.
The other nominees were Landri Wilson, Danielle Nasser, Hailey Moore, and Kassidy Munton.
Carlie is the daughter of Troy and Stephanie Cooper and the granddaughter of Jimmy and Tricia Cooper.
She is a member of Beltway Park Church. Carlie has been in Wylie’s Varsity Women’s Choir and Mixed Choir, has a role in this year’s fall musical “Beauty and the Beast,” has participated in UIL and FFA and has sung the National Anthem at many sporting events.
She is a member of Student Council, Tri-Hi-Y, National Honor Society, and PALS. Carlie is the chaplain of the Varsity Mixed Choir, historian for the Texas Future Music Educators, and secretary/treasurer for the senior class. She attended the National Young Leaders of America Conference in Washington D.C.
Carlie has worked as a facilitator at Sylvan Learning Center and currently works as a barista at Big Country Coffee.
After graduation, Carlie is considering several different schools in Texas and is leaning toward studying pre-law and eventually becoming an attorney.
She was escorted by her father Troy Cooper.
Hailey Moore
Hailey is the daughter of Jamey and Tammie Moore and attends Southside Baptist Church where she is active in the youth group and praise team.
She is president of the Student Council, vice-president of the senior class and vice president of the National Honor Society. She has been involved in cheerleading, Student-to-Student, FCA and Art Club. Hailey has participated in the Buddy Walk and March of Dimes and has been a Rhinestone Girl. She also volunteers for the Aggie Club selling Aggie fries at the fair.
After graduation, Hailey plans on attending Texas A&M and majoring in Business Management.
Hailey was escorted by her father Jamey Moore.
Kassidy Munton
Kassidy is the daughter of Dan and Tracy Munton and the granddaughter of Conrad and Eunice Turner and Eldon and Zeldean Munton.
She attends Beltway Park Church.
Kassidy has been involved in volleyball, Tri-Hi-Y, Young Life, FCA, National Honor Society and Rhinestone Girls. She is also a Wylie cheerleader and has been involved in competitive cheer.
After graduation, Kassidy plans on attending college.
She was escorted by her father Dan Munton.
Danielle Nasser
Danielle Nasser is the daughter of Dan and Kathy Nasser and the granddaughter of Dale and Surella Nasser and Jay and Bonnie Bristole.
Danielle attends Holy Family Catholic Church where she has participated in mission trips and various youth activities.
Danielle has been involved in volleyball, track, choir, PALS, National Honor Society, Tri-Hi-Y and the school newspaper. She volunteers at the Food Bank of Abilene and has participated in the Buddy Walk. Danielle is active on a daily basis with foster care children.
After graduation, Danielle plans on attending the University of Houston to study Kinesiology. She wants to pursue a physical therapy degree and work in adolescent rehabilitation.
Danielle was escorted by her father Dan Nasser.
Landri Wilson
Landri Wilson is the daughter of Mark and Leslie Wilson and the granddaughter of Bonnie and Rufus Wilson and Bentley and Raye Anne Hawley.
Landri is involved in the Southern Hills Church of Christ Youth Group and has participated in mission trips to New Orleans.
She has been involved in volleyball, cheerleading and pole vault. She has been elected as an All-American cheerleader, volunteered at the West Texas Rehab Camp, the Buddy Walk and March of Dimes.
Landri has participated in Tri-Hi-Y, Young life, National Honor Society, FCA and was elected as a student ambassador for People’s International. She has also been a Rhinestone Girl.
After graduation, Landri plans to attend college.
