The tradition of Excellence continues at Wylie West Intermediate School. We are thankful for all the hard work and dedication each one of our educators pours into our students. From parent drop off to core classroom teaching to parent pickup, our staff is working hard daily to teach and make a positive impact on our Bulldogs.
The third graders started things off by continuing the long-lasting tradition of the Safety City field trip. Many generations of Wylie kiddos have made the memory-making visit to Safety City. As always, we are very thankful for all the parent support provided. We know our third graders learned some valuable lessons while having a great time.
We have also done our part participating in Spirit days each week. The students and teachers enjoy dressing up and having fun throughout the day.
Each month we focus on character lessons. So far, we have worked on trustworthiness, respect and responsibility. During the last week in October, we celebrated Red Ribbon Week. We spend time talking about improving self-confidence and discussing the value of living a drug free life. During this week we also had the pleasure of hosting the High School PALS program. The PALS skit is another long-standing Wylie tradition at Wylie West Intermediate. On Halloween, our kiddos dressed up as their favorite book character.
We would like to say a special thank you to our District school safety team for making improvements on our campus. We have made several adjustments such as fencing in the playground area, adding security doors inside the building, adding additional security cameras, staff/substitute training, and daily perimeter checks.
We appreciate the teamwork between our staff and parents to provide a safe, positive, high-quality education to our students. It’s Great to be a Wylie Bulldog!
Respectfully,
Phil Boone, Principal
