This year’s varsity baseball team took the term “Wylie ties” to a whole new level.
A whopping 17 of the team’s parents either work for Wylie or graduated from Wylie.
Five of those work for the district AND graduated from the district.
Talk about keeping things in the Wylie family.
Of course, that’s not the only thing special about this group of Bulldogs. The team included nine seniors, and an astounding eight of those nine are continuing their baseball careers at the collegiate level. They are Balin Valentine, Dash Albus, Cooper Cothran, Riley Hood, Reed Hughes, Jaxson Hansen, Cooper Hrbacek and Walker Piland.
Also, this group of Wylie Bulldogs were part of a Little League team that advanced to the World Series in 2017. Included on that team were Balin, Reed, Riley, Dash, Trey Dutton, Cooper, Dante Cano, Walker and Garrett Graham.
That’s a pretty special group!
